Airport Engineer

Overview

Join a growing aviation engineering team supporting airport improvement projects throughout Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas. In this role, you'll contribute to projects from planning and design through construction, working closely with airport clients, FAA and DOT stakeholders, and internal project teams to deliver critical aviation infrastructure improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Civil Engineer looking for hands-on project experience, strong mentorship, and long-term career growth within an employee-owned firm.

What You'll Do

- Prepare engineering designs, construction plans, specifications, and technical reports for airport improvement projects.
- Analyze engineering data and develop practical, cost-effective design solutions.
- Coordinate with airport clients, consultants, contractors, and FAA/DOT agencies throughout project development.
- Support construction administration activities, including site visits, project meetings, and construction observations.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful aviation infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Required

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 1-5 years of civil engineering experience.
- Experience in aviation, transportation, roadway, or land development projects preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel periodically for project meetings and site visits.

Preferred

- Experience with FAA and/or DOT-funded projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
- Construction administration or field observation experience.
- Interest in aviation infrastructure and airport development.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Lincoln, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $150000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
