Business Unit and Position Summary:
Crane ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions ( www.cranecpe.com ) is a division within the Fluid Handling Business Segment of Crane Co ( www.craneco.com ), a US multi-national which specializes in highly engineered products in niche markets. Crane ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions designs, manufactures, markets and distributes a range of process valves and actuators under multiple brand names for a wide range of applications in a number of industries including the refinery, chemical, biopharmaceutical, and energy industries.
The Service Center Sales Manager leads the sales and inside sales team at the Baton Rouge Service Center (BRSC) and owns the site’s top-line growth, margin, and customer-experience results for Crane ChemPharma & Energy. This first-line people-leadership role is the primary driver of the BRSC growth strategy to scale sales from approximately $3M in 2026 to $10M by 2029, building and coaching a high-performing team of Technical Sales & Service Representatives and Inside Sales Associates. The Service Center Sales Manager is responsible for pipeline and quote-to-order conversion. This leader partners closely with the Regional Sales Manager, VP & General Manager, business line management, key account management, marketing, and operations (order booking and inventory) to remove barriers to growth and improve customer responsiveness. This interaction can be global in nature as many projects require interaction with other regions of the world.
Principle Duties:
Financial Performance & Growth:
- Own the Baton Rouge Service Center sales plan and lead the team to profitable growth across specialty CPE products (Xomox, WTA, Pacific HF) and services, scaling from ~$3M (2026) to $10M by 2029
- Set territory and account strategy for the team; prioritize MRO growth, conversion accounts, and key project pursuits
- Build, coach, and hold the team accountable to individual sales targets, funnel health, and quote-to-order conversion
- Direct the Inside Sales team to progress the opportunity funnel and ensure timely, high-quality follow-up on all inbound leads
- Coordination with Field Sales Team to drive growth and opportunities
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee identification and management of projects across the territory
- Coach the team to identify key influencers at Target Key Accounts and End Users and to implement value-based sales strategies for their applications
- Consolidate and own the sales forecast for BRSC
- Own customer responsiveness at the service center, setting and monitoring target phone/email response times and a consistent, professional first point of contact
- Partner with operations to improve the order booking process and inventory positioning, shortening lead times and improving on-time delivery
- Direct marketing and communication initiatives that promote the BRSC and its capabilities to end users and channel partners in the region
Technical Knowledge Acquisition and Application:
- Maintain a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the product line s and the value proposition s within specific applications
- Maintain a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the Sales specific tools
- Recommend product modifications, improvements, new products, or new applications
People & Culture:
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain a high-performing sales and inside sales team; conduct 1:1s, coaching, and performance reviews
- Personally maintain senior-level relationships with key End Users and Channel Partners and support the team in their relationship-building
Qualifications/Experience:
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical/ engineering discipline or equivalent; 10+ years of technical sales experience including 5+ years of experience in Service Sales, and 5+ years of prior team lead or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated people-leadership skills: coaching, developing, and holding a sales team accountable to targets
- Strong business acumen with the ability to manage a sales P&L and forecast
- Skilled in value-based selling and contract negotiation to win MRO and project orders versus competition, and able to coach the team to do the same
- High-energy, competitive leader who builds a winning, accountable team culture
Desirable Qualifications / Experience:
- Valve Products and Market Knowledge
- Chemical & Refining Industry and application knowledge
- Experience in dealing with different tools supporting the Sales process (Salesforce, ERP Systems)
