We are seeking an Inbound Transportation to manage inbound transportation operations and foreign trade activities for the plant, ensuring timely and efficient support for operational needs. This role will serve as a key connection between local operations and the Regional Transportation Team, supporting transportation performance, supplier management, logistics process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate has experience in logistics and transportation operations, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with carriers, brokers, 3PL providers, and internal stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to service performance, operational efficiency, and supply chain reliability within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do for Us

• Manage inbound transportation and foreign trade operations to ensure timely and efficient support for plant requirements and operational continuity.

• Monitor transportation and logistics business metrics, analyze operational performance indicators, and implement action plans focused on improving service, productivity, efficiency, and cost performance.

• Maintain and manage the operational relationship with inbound carriers, 3PL providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics service providers supporting the plant.

• Conduct root cause analysis for transportation-related complaints, incidents, and service disruptions, driving corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.

• Coordinate corrective action requests and follow-up activities with service providers and internal teams to ensure operational improvements and compliance.

• Support and participate in internal and external audits, ensuring required documentation, processes, and operational controls are aligned with company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate contract signature processes, contract renewals, and rate increase analyses for transportation carriers and logistics service providers.

• Analyze inbound carrier contracts to support operational efficiency, compliance, and cost management objectives.

• Provide operational support for logistics digital tools and transportation systems including FourKites and TM platforms.

• Ensure transportation services, logistics workflows, operational processes, and associated costs are properly identified, mapped, documented, and maintained.

• Develop, update, and maintain procedures, work instructions, and SGI job aids related to logistics and transportation operations.

• Collaborate closely with Warehouse, Customer Service, Planning, Quality, and Operations teams to support efficient material flow and logistics execution.

• Partner with the Regional Transportation Team to align transportation priorities, operational strategies, and process improvements.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, environmental compliance, service levels, and productivity across logistics operations.

• Participate actively in safety, environmental, and health initiatives while promoting compliance with company standards and operational risk management practices.

• Identify, report, and respond to deviations that may impact safety, quality, environmental compliance, or operations according to company procedures.

• Participate in risk assessment activities and maintain awareness of operational risk matrices associated with transportation and logistics activities.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, foreign trade, or supply chain operations.

• Experience working with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, logistics providers, or 3PL operations.

• Strong knowledge of inbound transportation processes and logistics operations within manufacturing or industrial environments.

• Experience analyzing logistics KPIs and operational metrics while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

• SAP knowledge, preferably related to logistics and transportation modules including P40.

• Familiarity with transportation management systems and digital logistics tools such as FourKites and TM platforms.

• Experience reviewing transportation contracts, supporting negotiations, and managing logistics service provider relationships is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.

• Ability to evaluate operational and financial impacts related to transportation costs, service performance, and business planning activities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple organizational levels and external partners.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

• Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in fast-paced operational environments.

• Demonstrated integrity, customer focus, adaptability, and collaboration skills.

• Conflict management and relationship-building capabilities with internal and external stakeholders.

• Systems thinking mindset with the ability to identify operational risks and process improvement opportunities.

• Understanding of audit processes, compliance standards, and operational documentation practices is preferred.

• Ability to work in plant and distribution center environments with exposure to operational and loading dock risks.

• Availability for occasional travel related to logistics and transportation activities.
