JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Software Developer Intern, you will have the chance to work alongside our skilled professionals in the Software Development Team, developing and supporting new software functionality, implementing

improvements, squashing bugs, and building integrations supporting our custom, in-house developed

software. The role covers all aspects of the software development lifecycle with specific focus on design, development, and testing. Our software is used by almost all team members within the organization, so you will have a chance to interact with a number of business disciplines.

This is an on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD and is not open to remote locations. Responsibilities include:

- Monitor tickets for high-priority items
- Assist with support issue escalations
- Use source-code management system to check out and check in code
- Work with team members to distribute tasks
- Spend time with business analysts and end users to understand business processes and transform them to software design
- Engage in office Nerf dart wars (ok, this one is optional)
- Maintain and update documentation for your duties and look for ways to improve the process
- Since we are all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skills may be put to a lot of other uses!

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Working toward a bachelor’s degree in software development or MIS

- A working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio and the .NET Platform, especially C#
- An understanding of relational database concepts, especially Microsoft SQL Server
- A basic understanding of website concepts and technologies

- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with a sense of urgency that drives results.
- Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in an office environment, working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand. Most of our Sioux Falls office workspace consists of an open-concept design intended to promote open communication and collaboration.
