Job Purpose
- To receive and ship orders in a timely fashion.
- To maintain constant inventory of shipping and receiving supplies for Hollister and foreign offices.
Essential Job Duties
- Unload all inbound shipments from carriers
- Open boxes and place shipments in bins
- Receive shipments on purchase orders
- Label box parts and apply shipping documents to parts
- Keep track of supply inventory using various local vendors as well as foreign distributors
- Detailed inspection of quality of parts and packaging
- Repackage parts per SMITH’s global standards and customer requirements
- Assist with other projects as necessary (ie. maintenance projects, moving furniture, etc)
- Responsible for Palletize, wrap, weight, and load product for domestic and international shipments
- Assistant in receiving inbound shipments
- Review shipping documents
- Compare and verify the following match the physical product shipping before product leaves Smith: final invoice, sales order application, customer requirements, labels, airway bill, export documents
- Package parts while removing any Foreign Object Debris and sanitizing any vendor information for domestic and international shipments
- Place all required documentation and labels on packages/pallets
Experience
- Minimum 1 year warehouse experience
- Knowledge of the distribution field helpful
- Knowledge of microprocessors helpful (testing of product and familiarity with part markings)
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required
Education
- High School Diploma
Software Requirements
- MS Word and Excel. Will be working with inhouse software (Workschain).
Physical Demands
- Long hours, lifting of heavy boxes, some weekend work may be required.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds or more, repetitively
