Landscape Foreman

The Westerfield Club, located in Tuscaloosa, AL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a  Full-Time Landscape Foreman! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. The Westerfield Club is seeking an experienced Landscape Foreman to join our Agronomy team. This position will focus heavily on landscape installation, renovation, and design throughout the property while also assisting with the daily maintenance and presentation of landscaped areas.

We are looking for someone with strong hands-on landscape experience who can take a project from concept through installation, operate equipment safely and efficiently, and help lead landscape crews in the field.

Compensation

$18.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)

Primary Responsibilities

- Lead and perform landscape installation and renovation projects throughout The Westerfield Club property

- Assist with landscape design, plant selection, bed layout, grading, drainage, and overall site preparation

- Install trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, sod, mulch, stone, edging, and other landscape materials

- Renovate and improve existing landscape beds and high-visibility areas

- Read plans, establish grades, lay out projects, and determine appropriate materials and quantities

- Operate equipment including excavators, track loaders/skid steers, saw cutters, mowers, tractors, and other landscape and construction equipment

- Perform grading, excavation, drainage, soil preparation, and site cleanup

- Safely operate chainsaws, power equipment, and hand tools

- Assist with irrigation installation, repairs, and adjustments associated with landscape projects

- Direct and work alongside landscape crew members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to established standards

- Maintain equipment and report repair or maintenance needs

- Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas

- Assist the Agronomy Department with other property improvement projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications

- Four to five years of professional landscape industry experience

- Strong background in landscape installation and renovation

- Experience with landscape design, plant placement, and site layout

- Ability to identify common landscape plants and understand proper planting and establishment practices

- Demonstrated ability to operate excavators, track loaders/skid steers, saw cutters, mowers, tractors, and similar equipment

- Working knowledge of grading, drainage, soil preparation, and irrigationAbility to lead a small crew and communicate work expectations effectively

- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

- Strong attention to detail and pride in finished work

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working on golf courses, resorts, clubs, commercial landscapes, or other high-end properties

- Experience designing and installing landscape projects from concept through completion

- Irrigation installation and troubleshooting experience

- Experience with hardscape, drainage, retaining walls, or similar construction projects

- Knowledge of plant material appropriate for the Alabama climate
