POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced EDA & CAD Manager to build and manage a robust design environment that supports multiple disciplines of IC designers across Lumilens. This role will own critical EDA methodology, CAD flows, design infrastructure, tool administration, and automation that enable faster, more reliable silicon development. You will partner closely with IC design, IT, and engineering leadership to strengthen our foundation, scale our tool environment, and improve the pace and quality of development across multiple programs.

What You'll Do:

- Support IC design and IT leadership with EDA tool upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and methodology enhancements across analog, mixed-signal design, layout and verification, and digital design and verification environments.

- Manage repositories for PDKs, internal and external IP, design data, and tools from multiple vendors, ensuring configuration control, reliability, and ease of adoption for engineering users.

- Advise design and IT leadership on future planning, EDA methodology improvements, design environment scalability, and infrastructure investments that support rapid growth.

- Develop, deploy, and maintain custom tools, scripts, automation, and plug-ins that improve designer productivity and are easily adopted across teams.

- Support CAD flows integrating tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, Pegasus, Genus, Innovus, Xcelium, Synopsys IC compiler, Siemens EDA, Calibre and related verification and signoff infrastructure.

- Maintain and troubleshoot EDA infrastructure, including Linux and Unix environments, compute-farm integration, environment modules, tool-version management, license servers, and interactions between EDA applications and engineering infrastructure.

- Build and support automated regression, validation, build, and deployment pipelines for EDA tools, design flows, and CAD environments.

- Stay current with advancements in EDA tools, CAD methodologies, license management, IP management, and design infrastructure relevant to Lumilens’ technical goals.

What You'll Bring:

- Deep understanding of Cadence/Synopsys tool flows, including analog and mixed-signal design tools such as Virtuoso, AMS, and Spectre.

- Hands-on experience with layout and signoff tools such as PVS, Pegasus, and Calibre, as well as synthesis, APR, and physical design tools such as Genus, Innovus and Fusion Compiler.

- Experience supporting multiple PDKs simultaneously, with familiarity with Intel, TSMC and GlobalFoundries preferred.

- Strong experience with revision control, repository administration, and methodology recommendations using systems such as Perforce, VersIC, Git, or similar tools.

- Experience managing internal and external IP, design data, PDK releases, and tool environments across multiple vendors and engineering teams.

- Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Perl, Tcl, Bash/Shell, and SKILL, including automation of EDA flows, tool setup, regression runs, log parsing, environment configuration, and design-data processing.

- Experience administering and troubleshooting FlexNet/FlexLM license environments, including license-server configuration, lmstat/lmutil diagnostics, feature availability, checkout failures, queueing, utilization monitoring, and vendor-daemon issues.

- Strong Linux and Unix troubleshooting skills, including LSF, Slurm, or Grid Engine compute-farm integration, environment modules, tool-version management, and debugging interactions between EDA tools, compute infrastructure, and license servers.

- Demonstrated history of solving complex problems for EDA users and improving the reliability, usability, and scalability of design environments.

Nice-to-Haves:

- Experience supporting remote computing environments such as ETX.

- Experience supporting engineering teams across multiple international locations.

- Some degree of systems administration ability across Linux, storage, compute, and engineering infrastructure environments.

- Experience with build systems such as Make, GNU Make, CMake, and custom Makefile-based flows, including build dependencies, environment setup, and reproducible EDA/CAD workflows.

- Experience with CI/CD and regression infrastructure such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions, including automated regression, validation, build, and deployment pipelines for EDA tools and design flows.
