About the Role
RBS is seeking an Installation Technician to join our Project Services Division. In this hands-on role, youll travel to customer facilities worldwide to install, commission, start up, and optimize industrial baking and mixing equipment.
Your focus will be new equipment installation and startup, with continued support through commissioning and the warranty period. Working closely with customers, engineers, and project managers, youll troubleshoot technical challenges, fine-tune equipment performance, and help customer teams prepare for safe, reliable production.

Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission industrial baking and mixing equipment at customer facilities.
- Support startup, testing, and operational verification to ensure equipment meets production, quality, and safety expectations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, combustion, and controls-related issues during installation and startup.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, relay logic, and operator interface systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Perform field modifications, alignments, adjustments, and system calibrations.
- Fine-tune ovens, dryers, conveyors, mixers, and ingredient handling systems for efficient, reliable performance.
- Train and support customer operators and maintenance personnel during installation and startup.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and customer teams to resolve installation and operational challenges.
- Complete accurate commissioning, startup, and service documentation using Microsoft Office and company software.
- Follow all company and customer safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 3 years of industrial equipment installation, commissioning, or startup experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience with TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
- Ability to travel extensively domestically and internationally, including extended assignments; a valid, unrestricted passport is required.
- Valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record to operate rental or company fleet vehicles.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, solve problems, and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
Additional Experience Valued
- Experience with industrial ovens, baking systems, or ingredient handling equipment.
- Familiarity with Reading Bakery Systems or Exact Mixing equipment.
- Combustion system troubleshooting experience.
- PLC programming or modification experience.
- Background in food manufacturing or industrial baking operations.
Travel and Work Environment
- Extensive domestic and international travel, including extended assignments at customer facilities.
- Work in industrial manufacturing and bakery production environments.
- Exposure to heat, noise, moving machinery, and vibration.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work in confined or elevated spaces as needed.
