About the Role

Jain Global is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Analyst to join its Data & Research Management team. The role will focus on sourcing and procuring the traditional market and financial data, research, alternative data, and information services used across the firm's investment platform. The successful candidate will partner with investment professionals to understand their requirements, identify and evaluate potential solutions, negotiate commercial terms, and manage the procurement process through contracting and onboarding. As part of the team, you will help in building scalable, repeatable processes around data/sourcing and procurement. We are looking for someone with a strong systems mindset who continuously looks for opportunities to standardize workflows, improve data quality, eliminate unnecessary manual work, and automate processes where practical.

Responsibilities

- Partner with portfolio managers, analysts, and other investment professionals to understand requirements and source to their needs.
- Manage the end-to-end sourcing and procurement lifecycle, including discovery, product evaluations/trials, commercial negotiations, contracting, and onboarding as well as ongoing vendor service management.
- Evaluate pricing, licensing models, usage rights, and competing solutions to negotiate effective commercial terms and maximize value.
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Technology, Finance, and other stakeholders to efficiently move requests through review and approval.
- Develop and continuously improve repeatable, scalable sourcing and procurement processes, leveraging technology and automation to increase speed, consistency, transparency, and control.
- Maintain structured data and reporting around sourcing activity, vendor evaluations, renewals, spend, savings, and other key metrics.
- Maintain knowledge of the evolving data and research landscape and proactively identify products and providers relevant to the firm's investment teams.

Qualifications

- 2–5 years of experience in data sourcing, procurement, vendor management, market data, research procurement, or a related function within financial services.
- Experience sourcing and evaluating traditional financial/market data and research products, with exposure to alternative data a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate products, pricing models, licensing structures, and commercial alternatives.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with investment professionals, vendors, and internal control functions.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple sourcing initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

- Experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank, or other investment organization.
- Familiarity with major financial data and research providers and the broader alternative data ecosystem.
- Understanding of financial-data licensing, usage rights, and common commercial models.
- Interest in or experience using AI, APIs, low-code tools, scripting, or other automation technologies to improve business processes.

The ideal candidate combines commercial judgment with a systems and process mindset. They should be comfortable working directly with investment professionals and negotiating with vendors, while also thinking critically about how sourcing and procurement can operate more efficiently at scale.

The objective is not simply to execute individual purchases, but to help build a scalable data sourcing and procurement capability that gets high-quality data and research into the hands of investment professionals quickly, efficiently, and on strong commercial terms.

Compensation

Jain Global offers a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary bonus, and comprehensive benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $140,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
