About this role
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, psychology, addictions studies, social work or related field with specialty or concentration in counseling
- Actively working towards a Professional License (i.e., LPC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist),
OR
- Actively working towards a credential through PCB (i.e., CAAC, CADC, CAADC, CCS), or be actively working toward licensure or certification. **Licensure or certification will need to be achieved within two to three (2 - 3) years of hire, depending on requirements.
- Hires after 7/1/2021 – employees must complete and maintain certification and/or license required by regulations and offered by Merakey within the required timeline. Failure to successfully complete and maintain license and/or certification and associated continuing education requirements will prevent you from being able to fulfill this role.

Merakey is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapist to join our Drug & Alcohol Program at the Wellness Village in Philadelphia, PA 19136 . This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM .

In this role, you will provide individual and group therapy services to adults receiving substance use treatment, helping individuals overcome barriers to recovery and achieve their personal goals. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, coordinate care, and support clients throughout their recovery journey. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically skilled professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality behavioral health services and empowering individuals to create lasting positive change in their lives.
Responsibilities include:
- Clinical Services: Facilitate individual and group therapy; assess treatment needs and recommend appropriate levels of care; engage and motivate individuals across varying stages of change; provide outreach and re-engagement support for individuals who are disengaged from treatment; maintain therapeutic rapport while upholding professional boundaries; utilize strong counseling, communication, and evidence-based clinical intervention skills.
- Caseload Management & Documentation: Manage an assigned caseload and monitor treatment progress, engagement, and recovery goals; maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation; ensure client records meet program, county, state, and federal requirements.
- Case Management & Care Coordination: Collaborate with case managers and multidisciplinary team members to connect individuals with community resources and support services; provide case management assistance as needed to promote recovery and treatment success.
- Program Compliance & Quality Assurance: Monitor client records, authorized service units, incident reporting, and non-billable activities; ensure compliance with Merakey, county, state, federal, licensing, and payer requirements; maintain client confidentiality and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Communication & Professional Development: Communicate effectively with supervisors, case managers, peer specialists, and other stakeholders regarding client needs and service coordination; participate in clinical supervision, required trainings, continuing education, and team meetings; maintain productivity standards and perform other duties as assigned.
Earn $27.34 per hour
