A member of the Electrical Network Technician department’s operating team, capable of independently performing all duties, including maintaining and improving the reliability of cabling infrastructure, as it relates to plant communications, networking, and safety.

You will have the opportunity to:

- Participates in the continuous improvement process by making suggestions to Supervisors and Leads.
- Ensures that all housekeeping requirements are met.
- Individual must perform to Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Procedures to maintain material flow to internal and external customers.
- Coordinates day-to-day telecommunications maintenance requirements for the Elmore site, which includes the installation and troubleshooting of the telecommunications systems.
- Works closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution and address emergent telecommunication issues, which may require occasional off-shift support for business-critical issues.
- Works closely with plant engineering, updating blueprints, coordinating the development of new process/ products and to effect improvements.
- Performs electrical base craft duties as well as other duties assigned to maintain the plant.
- Troubleshoots networking, routing and inter connectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low to mid-level application interaction.
- Installs, performs Preventive Maintenance, and Troubleshoots cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team to meet demands.
- Must have completed five years of industrial electrical maintenance (Three phase 480v) or a completed approved four-year electrical apprentice program, or relevant military experience.
- Required to subscribe to all training and / or associated competency assessment activities that have been determined to maintain or improve the efficiency of personnel in respective trade
- Certification in Fiber Optics and Premise Cabling preferred or commitment to obtain.
- Must have the ability to test and certify CAT5, 5e, 6, Single-mode and Multi-mode Optic cabling.
- Knowledge of CAT5e/6 STP/UTP Ethernet cabling requirements and TCP/IP networking required.
- Knowledge of line of sight, wireless, and Wi-Fi equipment including Ethernet routers and switches and network infrastructure technologies required.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure, best practices and methodologies required.
- Knowledge of network cabling, fiber optic types, and test equipment required
- Knowledge of CCTV / TV Video Systems / LCD/LED Projectors, general audio systems / IP based plant paging and emergency notification system required.
- Knowledge of Simplex fire alarm systems (state license/certification preferred) and security systems required.
- Must complete on the job training to understand the Plant Emergency, SPC and ERT procedures
- Individual should know PC and PLC functions and must be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics.
- Individual must be able to independently analyze problems and implement solutions.
- Individual will be required to work in all areas of the plant including on aerial platforms and on roof tops and is occasionally exposed to conditions such as dust, fumes, dirt, close quarters, chemicals, airborne Be, etc.
- Must possess basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office products and email.
- Must have good verbal and written skills.
- Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to provide customer service.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
