About this role
Provides direct patient care, coordinates treatment plans, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality outcomes. Maintains clinical documentation, adheres to safety protocols, and supports patient education and advocacy.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports. Records patient vital signs and medical information
2. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
3. Demonstrate competent clinical skills. Perform nursing-related skills and activities competently. Analyze situations critically.
4. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions. Demonstrate critical thinking and time management skills necessary for effective patient care. Assume responsibility and accountability for the safe nursing care of assigned patients
5. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members. Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the healthcare team. Complete hand-off communication and give complete reports to other caregivers.
6. Adhere to OSHA, Joint Commission, Standards of Nursing Practice supported by NJ BON, professional association, ANA Code of Ethics & Scope of Standards and Practice NJ Board of Health, and hospital standards. Use two patient identifiers and check allergies before medication administration. Follow hand washing protocols and maintain isolation precautions. Properly use and store equipment, checking expiration dates. Demonstrate leadership and function as a resource/mentor. Actively participates in Shared Governance.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
1. Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
2. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
3. BLS certification.
Preferred:
1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
a. All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.
2. Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
3. 1+ year of experience in Nursing or relevant area.
4. ACLS certification.
