About the Opportunity
Job Summary
The Senior Research Technician will assist with research related to the work being conducted in the lab. This staff member will manage the schedules and projects of other technicians and undergraduates within the lab. They will head recruiting for all studies within the lab and create databases to organize recruiting efforts within the community. The Senior Research Technician will ensure all eligible participants are screened according to eligibility criteria and obtain medical and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) safety clearance for each participant by communicating with doctors’ offices. This technician will have knowledge of how to run all sessions and be capable of performing them independently. They will oversee data accountability and ensure data is uploaded to the appropriate databases. The Senior Research Technician will be the primary contact for all undergraduates within the lab. They will organize and collect documentation, create schedules for new members, and train all undergraduates to assist with multiple studies.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Manage and organize undergraduate training, scheduling, and duties
- Head all organization for recruitment efforts for multiple research studies
- Perform data collection and analysis
- Work closely with participants, graduate students, research technicians, undergraduate research assistants, and other staff members to ensure research protocols are followed
- Assist with ordering and organizing supplies and draft materials for presentations and publications
- Screen and schedule participants, including obtaining MRI safety clearance
- Manage Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) data and shared databases with other universities
- Oversee all safety documentation for staff, including MRI safety, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) training, Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) documentation, and waivers
Minimum Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to train and manage fellow lab members
- Organizational skills to monitor recruitment numbers for multiple research studies
- Enthusiasm for research and a passion for learning laboratory methods
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others as part of a team
- Ability to accurately organize and analyze data generated from experiments
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Highly organized and dependable
- Skilled in the use of technology, including Microsoft Office, statistical processing software, and data collection software
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and solution-oriented skills
Preferred
- Master’s degree in a related field

Expected Hiring Range:
$29.00 - $40.96
