Cnc Programmer

Job Title: CNC Programmer Job Description This role focuses on programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines, lathes, and related CNC equipment to produce high-precision aerospace components. The CNC Programmer works with minimal supervision, develops and optimizes CNC programs, and ensures all parts meet stringent aerospace and defense standards, including AS9100 requirements. Responsibilities

- Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines, lathes, and other CNC equipment without direct oversight.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software and machine controls to improve quality, efficiency, and cycle time.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications to ensure accurate part production.
- Select and design tooling, fixtures, work holding, feeds, and speeds for efficient and repeatable machining operations.
- Perform complete machine setups, including tooling installation, work offsets, and first-piece prove-outs.
- Manufacture precision aerospace components while consistently maintaining tight tolerances.
- Inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, height gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Conduct first article inspections and in-process inspections to verify product conformity to specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and reduce cycle time.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and inspection records in accordance with internal and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and support continuous improvement.
- Follow all AS9100 quality requirements, internal procedures, and customer specifications in daily operations.

Essential Skills

- At least 10 years of experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation.
- Extensive experience within the aerospace or defense industry.
- In-depth familiarity with AS9100 standards and their application in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in developing and optimizing CNC programs using CAM software and machine controls.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Demonstrated ability to select and design tooling, fixtures, work holding, feeds, and speeds.
- Proven experience performing complete machine setups and first-piece prove-outs.
- Expertise in machining precision components while maintaining tight tolerances.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, height gauges, and thread gauges.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving machining and process issues.
- Ability to work independently without direct oversight while maintaining high quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arab, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
