Medical Assistant – Orthopedics | Westmont/Lombard | $1,500 Sign-On Bonus

Bring your Medical Assistant experience to a specialty where every day offers something different.

At Duly Health and Care, you will join an established Orthopaedics department and work alongside physicians, APPs, imaging, therapy and other clinical teams. You will gain hands-on experience caring for patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions while supporting them through treatment, procedures and recovery.

Position Highlights

- Department: Orthopedics
- Primary Locations: Westmont MOB and Lombard
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Hours: Monday–Friday, with shifts scheduled between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Travel: Local travel for coverage may be required, including Westmont Pasquinelli
- Bonus: $1,500 sign-on bonus

More Than a Routine Medical Assistant Role

In Orthopedics, you will build specialized clinical experience while working closely with your assigned physician and care team. The fast-paced environment, variety of providers and exposure to different orthopaedic needs help keep each day engaging.

Depending on the department and provider, you may gain experience with:

- Patient rooming, health histories and medication reconciliation
- Assisting with in-office procedures and dressing changes
- Bracing and durable medical equipment workflows
- Suture removal and other orthopaedic-specific responsibilities
- Coordinating care with imaging, therapy and surgery teams

You will also have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with patients as you support them from injury and diagnosis through treatment and recovery.

Responsibilities

- Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history
- Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures
- Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections
- Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing
- Conduct onsite lab testing to include: EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests
- Maintain clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits
- Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values
- Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required
- Several of our clinical specialties, including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Family Practice, require active medical assistant certification through one of the following:American Medical Technologists (AMT)National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)National Healthcareer Association (NHA)American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CPR certification or willingness to become certified upon hire required
- May require phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA or EMT, or two years of prior experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $21.43-23.63 for a Medical Assistant; Certified or Registered Medical Assistant the base pay range is $22.97-24.57, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
