This is a hybrid role, in office 3 days per week

Purpose

The Estimator provides Estimating support to Outside Sales, Customer Service and our customers. This will include providing take-off type quotes from drawings, plans or electronic files using software programs approved by the Sales Manager.  The Estimator will work to maintain a Quote Log for the Sales Team.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate and timely estimates and quotations for all qualified opportunities, providing detailed pricing, specifications, and supporting documentation for ASC Building Products, AEP Span, and Steel Deck products.
- Review and interpret construction documents, contract drawings, and project specifications to determine appropriate product applications and identify potential issues. Generate and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to architects, engineers, and designers as needed.
- Maintain detailed quote records, including wins, losses, customer interactions, and document activity, utilizing software tools to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and follow-up.
- Collaborate closely with Inside Sales Representatives, Outside Sales Representatives (OSRs), Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), customers, designers, installers, contractors, and end users to support project success and maximize quote conversion opportunities.
- Develop a thorough understanding of customer needs and project requirements to provide product recommendations, technical guidance, and value-added solutions.
- Maintain expert knowledge of ASC Building Products, AEP Span, Steel Deck, and related product offerings, including product capabilities, literature, installation requirements, and operational procedures.
- Serve as a technical resource by advising internal and external stakeholders on product selection, specification compliance, and application suitability.
- Execute estimating strategies and sales support initiatives in alignment with departmental objectives and management direction.
- Partner with sales and customer service teams to deliver exceptional customer service, ensure customer satisfaction, and support order fulfillment activities.
- Assist with order management, customer inquiries, and workload balancing during peak business periods or employee absences as needed.
- Support the onboarding and training of new Customer Service Representatives and other team members when applicable.
- Provide cross-functional estimating support across ASC Building Products, AEP Span, and Steel Deck divisions as business needs require.
- Meet or exceed established key performance indicators (KPIs), productivity goals, and departmental performance objectives.
- Proactively follow up on quoted opportunities with sales teams and customers to drive project closure and maximize business growth.

Qualifications

Minimum:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- In lieu of degree, 2-year Associate degree and 3+ years of experience in Estimating, Project Management, or a related discipline
- Experience with AutoCAD and other estimating software programs

Preferred:

- 5+ years of experience in Estimating, Project Management, or a related discipline
- Construction management or construction related work experience idea and/or equivalent combination of education and training in building constructions with an understanding of installation techniques and terminology.

Salary Range : The expected pay scale for this role is $72,225.00 - $85,805.00 annually, depending on experience, skill set, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a targeted annual bonus of 15%, health and welfare benefits and 401(k) match in accordance with BlueScope policies.
