Position Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating plant processes, equipment performance, and operational efficiency to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing of Natural Soda products. This role analyzes process data, identifies improvement opportunities, and provides technical support across departments to optimize plant performance.

The Process Engineer collaborates with Production, Maintenance, Environmental, Quality, and Sales teams to troubleshoot issues, improve product quality, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Recommend improvements to critical control points and other plant processes.

- Track process parameters and equipment performance; analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.

- Participate in process troubleshooting and root cause analysis for operational and quality issues.

- Assist in the investigation of product quality concerns and correlate findings to equipment, process conditions, or control systems.

- Develop, implement, and validate process control points and operating procedures.

- Participate in the design, development, and installation of new equipment and process systems.

- Perform or support validation activities for new and existing equipment and processes.

- Support new product development by evaluating process capability and equipment readiness.

- Collaborate with Environmental, Quality, Maintenance, and Sales teams to provide technical support and data analysis.

- Assist with development of procedures for production operations and process analysis.

- Support regulatory inspections and ensure compliance of plant systems and equipment.

- Assist in training plant personnel on proper equipment operation and process standards.

- Collect and analyze plant data to support environmental and operational reporting.

- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

- Attend meetings, technical reviews, and industry conferences as required.

Decision Making Authority:

- Make independent recommendations regarding process improvements, equipment modifications, and operational adjustments.

- Determine appropriate responses to process deviations and performance issues.

- Support decision-making related to product quality, process capability, and operational efficiency.

- Escalate significant operational, safety, or compliance concerns to leadership.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions and Environment:

- Frequently required to walk, stand, talk, and hear.

- Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

- Frequent use of hands for handling, grasping, and reaching.

- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

- Work performed in both office and plant environments, including exposure to:

- Moving mechanical parts

- Airborne particles, dust, and chemicals

- High places and electrical hazards

- Varying temperatures and noise levels

- Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional extended hours or emergency support.

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range

Process Engineer

[$96,900.00 - $125,800.00]

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
