Senior Systems Engineer

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Space Force Range Contract   (SFRC)

Essential Functions:

- Serve as the Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) for assigned LTRS subsystem(s), managing issues including risk, subsystem anomalies, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) cases.

- Develop out-year plans (spend plans) and provide input for Government funding to address subsystem needs.

- Provide project integration support from contract award through the final transition of Third-Party Developer (TPD) systems into the SFRC OM&S baseline.

- Support the development of acquisition documentation (SOO, SOW, PWS) for TPD procurements and assist in Request for Proposal (RFP) development.
- Develop high-level engineering project plans and assist Space Force Project Managers, Internal Project Managers, and Third-Party Project Managers with project schedule development.

- Define and write requirements for TPD contracts based on capabilities and operating concepts in support of SLD30.

- Coordinate with Government customers and internal SFRC stakeholders.

- Apply risk management principles to identify, assess, plan, and mitigate subsystem and LTRS risks.

- Support or manage LTRS Risk Management Working Groups and Risk and Opportunity Management Boards (ROMBs).

- Serve as an Integration Lead assigned to acquisition projects to oversee the integration and transition of new or modified systems ensuring they meet SFRC OM&S standards.

- Manage and execute systems engineering processes to ensure continuity across the SFRC.

- Assist in developing training tools and documentation for transitioning systems.
- Assist Engineering Managers in prioritizing tasks to support mission needs.

Minimum Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field. Master’s degree preferred.

- 8+ years of systems engineering experience or related engineering experience.

- Fundamental knowledge of engineering lifecycle and systems engineering processes. CSEP Certification is preferred.

- Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and the Microsoft Office suite.

- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo) is preferred.
- Experience with Project Scheduling software such as MSProject, JIRA, or others. PMI certification is preferred.

- Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours or weekends to support mission requirements.

- Willingness to travel.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).

- Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Compensation Details:
$130,000 - $135,000 annually
