Interior Design Manager

RealFood Hospitality, Strategy and Design (RFHSD) - part of the Troon family of brands - is excited to be adding an Interior Design Manager to our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their design skill set, preferably in relation to the hospitality and foodservice industry, and who wants to translate that passion and expertise into phenomenal kitchen, bar and foodservice designs and client experiences.

Position Summary:

The Interior Design Manager works closely with the entirety of the Design Team to support, and execute every scope of work offered to clients. They use their years of experience and expertise to understand our team and our clients, to help achieve hospitality design success.

This is a seasonal position (6 months or less) with the potential to transition into a full-time permanent role, up to the discretion of the company's management team and Troon HR.

Essential Duties:

Departmental and Client Responsibilities

- Report to the Interior Project Design Manager

- Manage interior design projects from initial site visit and concept development through procurement, installation, and project completion, coordinating deliverables, schedules, budgets, and project priorities.

- Serve as a primary point of coordination with clients, club management, committees, vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal teams, ensuring decisions, approvals, and project requirements are clearly communicated and documented.

- Develop concept design to meet owners requirements

- Develop and manage project budgets, FF&E estimates, procurement schedules, and pricing comparisons, ensuring design decisions align with approved project budgets.

- Manage project milestones and deliverables in alignment with client approval processes, committee/board meetings, budget cycles, procurement lead times, and installation schedules.

- Lead FF&E sourcing, specification, procurement, and vendor coordination, including obtaining and reviewing quotes, pricing, lead times, samples, product information, and substitutions.

- Develop and lead client-facing design presentations, including concept imagery, finish and furniture selections, plans, budgets, renderings, and project updates.

- Develop and oversee floor plans, furniture layouts, space plans, and design drawings, and provide direction and review of drawings prepared by Design Specialists and supporting team members.

- Coordinate a team of Design Managers, Design Specialist and Assistants

- Coordinate, attend and guide design workshops as required

- Coordinate with internal and external consultants to integrate requirements and meet overall project objectives

- Conduct site visits and field verification and coordinate installation and project closeout, addressing design-related issues that arise during execution.

- Production of design intent documents and design drawings through all phases

- Design and manage to a given budget

- Prepare design analysis, research and preliminary design studies

- Preparation of design presentations for approval

- Ensure issued information is accurate and meets client and project team requirements

- Undertake site inspections and surveys

- Help ensure office standards and appropriate levels of quality are met on each phase

- Producing consistent work on time, and to a high professional standard

- Assist with work programming and reporting on project progress

- Responsible for keeping the Interior Project Design Manager fully informed of decisions, deadlines, problems and solutions regarding all aspects of the project

- Attend and participate in design meetings and presentations including the taking of notes and minutes (including assembling and dispersing them in a timely manner)

Sales and Business Development (BD)

- Gain proficiency of Troon Design Studios corporate values, positioning, and brand voice

- Gain proficiency of overall Troon sales processes and outcomes

- Gain proficiency in proposal and contract generation

- Gain proficiency in Salesforce for use as a tool to manage project, BD and sales efforts

- Support Design Team with Salesforce upkeep as needed

- Develop and maintain client relationships

Education/Experience:

- Experience: Minimum 3-7 years in a Senior or Mid-Level Design role or equivalent role at a different firm

- Bachelors Degree from a FIDER accredited Interior Design program preferred

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Canva or similar presentation software, Microsoft Excel, and a 3D rendering/modeling program such as Revit, with the ability to learn new programs easily

- Understanding and knowledge of the hospitality industry

- Possess a strong desire to make an immediate impact as well as to make a lasting impression on the company

Physical Demands:

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance.
