The Opportunity:

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable DoD to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network Navy needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in managing and oversee O&M activities and support staff, including system, database and network administrators in a network operations center.

What You'll Work On:

- Lead day-to-day operations of a complex environment to maintain the network and mission systems.
- Perform technical analysis of complex software, hardware, and transmission facility using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations.
- Maintain responsibility for infrastructure, systems, and applications including the design, implementation, sustainability, and deployment of system enhancements and upgrades.
- Work closely with client leadership to report progress. Troubleshoot issues and plan and design for future system enhancements to the infrastructure.
- Ensure system performance metrics are being met and provide regular status and operational updates to all stakeholders.
- Interface with engineering and development teams to determine software requirements and manage upgrade and release schedules.
- Supervise network infrastructure, operation availability, and capabilities for incidents, problems, outages, and other issues impacting system performance or Cybersecurity events.
- Manage the network operations team to meet project goals and adhere to approved standards.
- Supervise the installation and configuration of automated tools to track network configuration, monitoring status, and performance.

You Have:

- 5+ years of experience in design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting Cisco based networking environments
- 5+ years of experience implementing DoD STIGs on Cisco networks
- Experience with vulnerability management, including scanning, patching, and remediation
- Experience with a wide variety of technologies and products, including VMWare, Windows, network switches and routers, firewalls, and Cybersecurity
- Experience with operating in DoD frameworks, including RMF and NIST
- Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- CompTIA Security+ certification and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification

Nice If You Have:

- Experience with ITIL-based IT service management, including incident, problem, and change management and Service Now
- Experience in writing technical documentation
- Experience with the Cloud, including AWS preferred
- Knowledge of Navy Networks and systems including C4I, NMCI/NGEN, NNPI and JWICS
- Ability to work with leadership, functional groups, and development teams
- Ability to work independently under general direction
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating with staff, management, and clients effectively
- Top Secret clearance
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
