Schedule Details: clinic hours are Monday - Friday, 7am - 5:30pm, 16 hours/month minimum, no weekends or holidays

As an Asthma Allergy Tech, you will be responsible for assisting providers with patient care by controlling allergy shot patient flow, obtaining and documenting necessary history and vital signs, performing assigned procedures, mixing immunotherapy antigen and providing patient education. Performs a variety of assigned duties which promote a safe and organized environment for the delivery of services to children and their families within the ambulatory clinic setting.

Requirements

- High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) plus two years of advanced education in the biological sciences or specialized training in anatomy and physiology or equivalent work experience Required
- Must have educational training in a health care program that includes medication administration, this can be acquired in an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program Required
- 1+ years related experience Required
- Previous experience in administering immunizations and other injections Preferred
- Clinical experience in allergy Preferred
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required
- Ability to work with a diverse patient population to promote a culturally competent environment.
- Analytical ability in order to assess patient’s changing condition and report accordingly.
- Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with physicians, patient, parents and staff.
- Familiarity with computer operations and functions, specifically Microsoft Office. Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills required.
