Lead Deck Electrician

In addition to fulfilling the essential duties of a Lighting Technician, assist the Lighting Operations Supervisor in providing leadership, training, organization, and technical support to your team, primarily the Deck Electricians, as well as Lighting Design for maintaining show integrity, changeover, rehearsal, show-run, and all other special events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Actively promote and exemplify an environment that upholds our Core Values and Culture.

- Work to build trust and teamwork throughout your team and all other show run departments.

- Collaborate with Show Operations Leadership, as well as your counterpart across the miles, for on-going mutual support, accountability, growth, and maintaining show integrity.

- Conduct 1-on-1 meetings with your team to provide support, positive influence and accountability and attend any required leadership meetings.

- Ensure consistency and professionalism of your team, keep all cue sheets up to date and organized, cover all deck electrician tracks, learn follow spot tracks if needed, and learn to operate the lighting console for dimmer checks and productions as needed.

- Collaborate with the Deck Chief and Stage Management to uphold the leadership, safety, and logistics of the deck space.

- Communicate well and make decisions effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Collaborate with Lighting Design, Deck Leadership, and the Show Logistics Animators leading up to and throughout the rehearsal process in coordinating the deck electrician cues.

- Lead/Manage crews for show run coverage, dimmer checks, strike, install, focus/programming, and notes shifts in collaboration with the Lighting Operations Leadership Team and Lighting Design.

- Ensure functionality, cleanliness, safety and integrity of productions, equipment, and work environments, including the basic operation of boom/scissor lifts.

The physical demands of this position are active in nature. You will be on your feet most of the day, walking and running regularly, consistently communicating with team members on a headset, and physically pushing and pulling set pieces throughout the day. This position is expected to lift/exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, seldom up to 100 lbs., and working with a team to move set pieces weighing up to 18,500 lbs.
