Physical Therapist I: Full Time Days, Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center

We are seeking candidates who have an interest in orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary populations and prefer candidates who have acute care/inpatient experience.

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering physical therapy treatments in the acute care setting to help patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. The goal is to improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.

Also,

- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions and medical histories.
- Conduct thorough chart reviews .
- Diagnose movement dysfunction and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities (e.g., ultrasound, electrical stimulation).
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery expectations, and home exercises.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Recommend discharge disposition.
- Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants, Rehab Aides and support staff as needed.
- Other duties as needed/required.

Required:

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program. Initiated in 2016; prior to 2016 Masters of Physical Therapy required.

Current New Jersey PT license

BLS certification

Preferred:

Acute care experience preferred but not required.
