• Works with partners to clarify requirements and scope, then uses post-launch data to identify improvements.

Process

• Participates in discovery, exploration, validation, delivery, design QA, and post-launch evaluation.

• Explores multiple approaches, explains key decisions, and independently manages assigned work while

communicating risks and dependencies.

• Uses approved AI tools for appropriate tasks such as research synthesis, ideation, rapid prototyping,

documentation, and quality review.

• Validates AI-assisted work for accuracy, accessibility, brand alignment, bias, and technical feasibility.

• Supports implementation through organized files, clear specifications, developer walkthroughs, collaboration, and design QA.

• Verifies AI-generated work, maintains ownership of final decisions, and follows company requirements for privacy,

security, intellectual property, and responsible AI use.

Transparency

• Shares work early and regularly with design, cross-functional partners, and stakeholders.

• Communicates assumptions, unresolved questions, tradeoffs, risks, and next steps.

• Invites constructive feedback, documents important decisions, and keeps partners informed of changes.

Fluency

• Communicates effectively with product, engineering, research, analytics, editorial, and business partners.

• Understands different disciplines' priorities and constraints and accounts for them when developing solutions.

• Builds trust and works through scope and technical challenges while protecting the core user experience.

Communication

• Demonstrates strong written, verbal, visual, and presentation skills.

• Explains complex ideas and design decisions clearly, using relevant context and evidence.

• Keeps discussions focused, remains open to other perspectives, and communicates actionable next steps.

Mentorship

• Provides thoughtful, direct, and respectful feedback during critiques and project reviews.

• Supports less-experienced designers by sharing knowledge and constructive guidance when appropriate.

• Seeks coaching from Senior and Lead Designers to strengthen product thinking, craft, communication, and technical fluency.

Culture

• Identifies and supports design-led improvements within the assigned product area.

• Participates in critiques, workshops, team initiatives, and shared learning opportunities.
