Crafted Highlights:

In the role of Barley Development Assistant working in Idaho, US , you will be part of the Barley Development Team. You will support barley breeding and seed production activities across North America through field trial execution, seed preparation, nursery maintenance, harvest activities, laboratory analysis, and post-harvest processing to ensure high-quality barley research and development outcomes.

This position reports to the Barley Development Scientist and works closely with barley research teams and field operations across Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Alberta.

What You'll Be Brewing:

- Perform post-harvest activities including weighing plot bags, cleaning seed, and conducting laboratory analysis to measure grain plumpness, test weight, moisture, and protein, while maintaining organized sample inventories and supporting a strong safety culture.
- Treat seed, prepare and mark fields, and work as part of a team planting and harvesting yield trials and seed increase nurseries across multiple research locations. Operate agricultural equipment, transport equipment between sites, and utilize GPS auto-steer technology.
- Maintain barley nursery sites through weed control, plot tagging, data collection, and husbandry activities. Rogue seed lots to ensure the highest quality seed production standards.
- Assist with seed organization, sub-sampling, export preparation, housekeeping activities, and support barley field days and educational events.

Key Ingredients:

- You have a High School Diploma/GED. Some post-secondary education is considered an asset.
- You have 1-3 years of relevant experience in agriculture, field research, seed production, laboratory operations, or a related environment.
- You are organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to establish checks and balances for critical organizational processes.
- You can follow scientific protocols, procedures, and both verbal and written instructions with accuracy and consistency.
- You are comfortable performing physically demanding work, including standing for extended periods in a laboratory setting and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- You possess the ability to learn and operate agricultural research and field equipment, including tractors, drills, combines, forklifts, seed cleaners, and towing equipment.
- You understand workflow priorities and can effectively manage timelines while maintaining quality standards.
- You are flexible and willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays when required during peak seasonal periods.
- You build relationships and collaborate effectively to achieve team objectives.
- You take accountability for results, act with integrity, and honor commitments.
- You have a thirst for learning and are committed to continuous improvement and development.

Pay and Benefits:

At Molson Coors, we’re committed to paying people fairly and equitably for the work they do.

Job Posting Total Rewards Offerings : $49,200.00  -   $64,600.00  (posting salary range) +  5 %  target short term incentive +  $23,000  on average spent on benefits per employee, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, retirement with above market employer match, wellness incentives and EAP + paid time off (including holidays, vacation days and sick days).

The posting range provided above for salary is what we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We ultimately pay based on a number of non-discriminatory factors that inform pay decisions including but not limited to the required work location, previous work experience, skill set and internal equity.
