About the location:
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will feature 95 keys and 25 branded residential homes, 8 distinct F&B outlets, all thoughtfully designed to reflect a contemporary interpretation of the Dominican Republic’s natural beauty. Wellness will be a defining pillar of the property, delivering a holistic experience that harmonizes with the natural environment while enhancing overall wellbeing through the restorative power of nature. The sustainable luxury destination is located on a 60-acre (24 hectare) site along the pristine beachfront of Playa Esmeralda in northeastern Dominican Republic, along the southern shores of Samaná Bay. A site of breathtaking natural beauty, Tropicalia is home to a diverse ecosystem of white-sand beaches; crystalline, aquamarine water and coral reefs; mountains, forests, mangroves, lagoons and rivers; a working coconut plantation; and an organic farm.

About the Role

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our pre-opening team in Miches. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position will support the opening and ongoing operation of the resort by leading daily engineering activities, maintaining the highest standards of safety and functionality, and ensuring that all building systems, equipment, guest areas and back-of-house facilities operate efficiently and reliably.

What You Will Do

- Support the Director of Engineering in managing the daily activities of the Engineering team and coordinating departmental priorities.
- Participate in pre-opening activities, including inspections, testing, commissioning, snagging and operational handover of building systems and equipment.
- Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, life-safety and other property systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, residences, public areas, back-of-house spaces, plant rooms and equipment to identify maintenance needs and ensure Four Seasons standards are consistently met.
- Assign, monitor and follow up on work orders, ensuring that repairs and maintenance requests are completed safely, efficiently and within established timelines.
- Assist with recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching and evaluating Engineering employees while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous development.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, suppliers and service providers, ensuring that all work complies with contractual requirements, safety standards and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, inventories, equipment warranties, technical documentation and statutory certifications.
- Support departmental budgeting, purchasing, inventory control and energy-conservation initiatives while ensuring responsible use of resources.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures and operational emergencies and participate in the property’s emergency-response and fire-life-safety programs.
- Collaborate with other departments to minimize operational disruption and deliver a safe, comfortable and exceptional experience for guests, residents and employees.

What You Bring

- Degree, technical diploma or professional certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Industrial Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of three to five years of progressive engineering or facilities-management experience, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort or complex property environment.
- Previous supervisory or management experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop a technical team.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and life-safety systems, as well as preventive-maintenance and work-order management programs.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Spanish is required; working knowledge of English is highly preferred.

Schedule & Hours

- This is a full-time position.
- The successful candidate must be flexible to work days, evenings, weekends and public holidays based on operational needs.
- As the resort operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, scheduled days and hours may vary. The position may also require availability outside regular working hours to respond to operational emergencies.

Work Authorization

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the Dominican Republic or able to meet the applicable immigration and work-permit requirements.
