Senior Wafer Fab Planner

We are a vertically integrated photonics company specializing in the design and manufacture of Indium Phosphide (InP) semiconductor laser and gain chips. Our operations include epitaxial growth and wafer fabrication across two Southern California sites supporting customer demand for advanced photonic devices.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Wafer Fab Planner to manage production planning and scheduling for epitaxy and wafer fabrication operations. This individual will translate die demand into wafer starts, balance fab capacity, manage WIP, and ensure timely availability of tested die to support downstream product delivery requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain master production plans for InP wafer fabrication operations across two manufacturing sites

- Translate customer and business demand into wafer start requirements

- Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly production schedules

- Plan production loading across approximately five epitaxial growth tools and downstream wafer fabrication operations

- Perform capacity analysis and identify bottlenecks impacting delivery performance

- Monitor wafer movement, WIP health, aging lots, and cycle time

- Maintain die supply plans based on forecast, inventory, yield assumptions, and manufacturing cycle times

- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Yield Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve risks and drive execution, and develop dashboards and reports for wafer starts, WIP, cycle time, capacity utilization, die inventory, and forecast accuracy

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related discipline.

- 5+ years of production planning experience in semiconductor manufacturing.

- Strong understanding of capacity planning, production scheduling, inventory management, and demand planning.

- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Desired Qualifications

- Experience in photonics, optoelectronics, compound semiconductors, InP, GaAs, or silicon photonics.

- Familiarity with epitaxial growth operations such as MOCVD, MOVPE, or MBE.

- Experience with semiconductor MES systems.

- Understanding of wafer yield, die inventory management, and cycle time optimization.

- Experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is 82,000-117,000. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee's total compensation package.
