How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse t eam of unique individuals who all make an impact. As calls or visitors come in, the incumbent maintains the daily visitors’ log. This role is also responsible for accepting special deliveries and pickups and helping direct people to the right places and people. This position provides administrative support for all plant operations and plant leadership. The successful incumbent is customer focused, highly organized, diplomatic, detail oriented and friendly.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

- Welcome on-site visitors, determining the nature of business, and notifying visitors to appropriate personnel to ensure good customer service

- Answer phone calls and directing the caller to the appropriate personnel, department, or voicemail to ensure all calls are addressed

- Provide callers with basic information such as company address, directions to company location, and other related information

- Maintain front desk and ensure necessary supplies are available at all times

- Ensure employee files are up to date

- Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation

- Provide administrative support to Human Resources, Production Planning, Quality, EHS, and other plant operations as needed

- Post and remove job bids and plant notices for Human Resources

- Coordinate safety shoes, and prescription safety glasses programs

- Maintain Springfield phone list and communicate to plant

- Perform other duties as assigned

What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)

Education & Certifications

- High school diploma or GED required

- Prior experience as an administrative assistant a plus

- Strong communication and computer skills
