Director of Maintenance

SUMMARY OVERVIEW

The Director of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities of equipment within the airport. This role involves planning, scheduling, and supervising maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Director coordinates closely with various departments to minimize operational disruptions during maintenance activities and to optimize the lifespan and performance of airport assets. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance team, developing budgets, and implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure the highest levels of safety and efficiency in airport operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Maintenance department

- Manage a team of maintenance professionals, including mechanics, technicians, and supervisors

- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and safety of airport equipment and facilities

- Collaborate with the Operations department to plan and execute maintenance activities without disrupting airport operations

- Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and reduce repair costs

- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

- Manage maintenance budgets and allocate resources effectively to meet departmental goals

- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards in maintenance activities

- Lead the development of maintenance procedures and standard operating guidelines

- Oversee the procurement of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and equipment

- Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to maintenance services and equipment

- Develop and maintain documentation for equipment maintenance records and service history

- Lead the implementation of advanced maintenance technologies, such as predictive maintenance and IoT solutions

- Collaborate with environmental and sustainability teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations

- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards

- Foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance within the Maintenance department

- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance efficiency and equipment uptime

- Prepare and present reports on maintenance performance and strategies to senior management

- Stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in maintenance practices and technologies to drive continuous improvement in maintenance operations

- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS

- 18 years of age or older

- Eligible to work in the United States

- Must have a valid state-issued drivers license with an acceptable driving record

- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)

- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus

- 5-10 years aviation maintenance experience  is preferred

- Strong understanding of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email

- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means

- Pass a background check and drug screen

- Must be flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations
