The QCL Shift Supervisor supports the planning, coordination, and supervision of Quality Control Laboratory operations and personnel during their assigned shift. This role ensures analytical testing is performed safely and in accordance with established procedures, policies, and plans, providing hands-on technical guidance and shift-level oversight to support data integrity, GMP compliance, and continuous improvement of laboratory operations.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity within a manufacturing and/or quality control laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Experience with analytical techniques, laboratory operations, and data integrity.
- Good technical writing and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that promote engagement and teamwork within a cross-functional environment.
- Available to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed to support continuous laboratory operations.
- Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish) with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Strong problem-solving and sound decision-making ability.
- Proficiency with computer applications relevant to laboratory operations and quality systems (Microsoft Office, ADP®, SAP, GMARS, etc.).
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

- Actively participate in shift and team meetings, representing shift operations and contributing input to the broader team.
- Collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams to support timely, well-informed decisions that keep the team on track.
- Recognize teamwork using established recognition tools in alignment with facility expectations.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of company procedures and policies; model compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Human Resources requirements.
- Encourage team participation in identifying and implementing continuous improvements.
- Assist the Associate Director in managing and investigating shift-related incidents/accidents; coordinate with occupational health/paramedic services when needed.
- Verify technicians meet all requirements to provide QC testing services (e.g., required certifications, equipment access, medical surveillance).
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture and operational excellence within the shift, ensuring team compliance with procedures and company policies.
- Maintain inspection readiness in the laboratory.
- Monitor shift-level laboratory metrics and ensure compliance with established targets.
- Support timely and effective resolution of analytical and operational issues arising during the shift.
- Manage all administrative tasks related to employees, such as performance management, payroll, and employee relations matters, discipline, development etc.
