As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for requirements gathering, application development, database design, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of scalable enterprise solutions. You will build AI-infused applications, Agentic Solutions to enhance user experience and productivity, foster creativity, and turning ideas into strategic solutions. All this while enforcing engineering best practices to ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions. Commercial Sales Experiences organization is part of Microsoft Commercial Business (MCB) responsible for all systems and tools to drive Cloud and AI Solutions to help customers realize value for their investments, by supporting Microsoft Field and Corp resources with programmatic and scalable assets. Commercial Sales Experiences Engineering team is responsible for driving and building apps and engineering solutions to enable key seller roles across MCB. Commercial Sales Experiences is looking for a full stack Software Engineer to join us to drive and deliver innovative and world-class solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for multiple products on the Commercial Sales Experiences platform and solutions and deliver state-of-the-art experiences for our users. Build high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions by following engineering best practices and established development standards. Leverage AI technologies and developing Copilot-powered features that enhance user experience, productivity, and business outcomes. Solution Design and Development:Design and implement application components and services that align with architectural standards, security requirements, and business objectives. Apply appropriate technologies, frameworks, and design patterns to build reliable, maintainable, and performant systems. Collaboration and Continuous Learning:Collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver customer-focused solutions. Actively participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities while continuously expanding technical expertise and contributing to a positive, inclusive team culture. Quality Assurance:Establish and enforce best practices in designing, coding, automated testing, and documentation to ensure high standards for code quality, performance, and service reliability. Reliability & Operational Excellence:Build production reliability through monitoring, alerting, diagnostics, and automated recovery; lead incident mitigation and root cause analysis; and continuously improve the performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of the platform. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:Identify and implement opportunities for automation, process optimization, and technical innovation, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement across the team. Planning and Communication:Drive active participation in sprint, quarterly, and semester planning—providing accurate cost and effort estimates while maintaining transparent communication on deliverables, risks, and milestones. Partner effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and business partners to ensure alignment and on-time delivery. Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications<ul type="disc"><li>3+ years of experience as a software engineer building commercial software and proven track record of shipping successful software products & services.</li><li>3+ years of experience applying cloud development principles and design patterns, including loosely coupled architectures, microservices, and DevOps practices.</li><li>Technical experience in C#, .NET, Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Automated testing frameworks, or equivalent languages, frameworks, and technologies.</li><li>Experience harnessing next-generation AI development tools like GitHub Copilot, Copilot CLI/SDK, Claude CLI, r equivalent platforms to transform the SDLC through agents, plugins, skills, MCP servers, automation, and engineering at scale.</li><li>Experience building applications and intelligent agents using ASP.NET, Azure AI services, Azure AI Foundry, or equivalent frameworks to deliver AI-powered solutions.</li><li>Technical experience of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure, architecture design, Azure PaaS services, and cloud-native platforms, including:</li><ul type="circle"><li>App Platform & Compute: Web Apps, Function Apps, AKS, Azure Container Apps</li><li>Integration Services: API Management (APIM), Azure Front Door, Service Bus, Event Hub</li><li>Data & Databases: Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse, and NoSQL databases</li></ul><li>Experience with DevOps practices and Azure infrastructure, including Git or other source control systems and CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Experience working in global agile teams or startup environments with strong customer focus.</li><li>Experience with Power Platform and Dynamics 365 is an added advantage.</li></ul> Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
