Job Summary

- Seeking a Cloud System Administrator to support the day-to-day operation and stability of a cloud-based platform built with Java and Free and Open-Source Software technologies, including Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo
- The platform supports the execution of data-intensive analytics across managed infrastructure in a mission-focused environment
- The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment while proactively identifying and resolving operational issues
- This position includes Tier 1 through Tier 3 support responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

- Support the day-to-day operation, administration, maintenance, and stability of cloud-based infrastructure and platform services
- Provide Tier 1 through Tier 3 technical support for operational issues affecting users, applications, and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking, system, and application issues within Linux-based environments
- Monitor system health, availability, performance, and operational status
- Support Red Hat and CentOS systems through command-line administration and troubleshooting
- Perform Linux and Unix networking support, including use of tools such as nmap, tcpdump, and firewall utilities
- Support system provisioning and Red Hat/CentOS kickstart configuration
- Perform DNS administration and support associated hosts files and DHCP configurations
- Support cloud and distributed computing technologies including Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo
- Assist with containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes
- Develop and maintain automation and administrative scripts using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
- Support troubleshooting and administration of Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) environments
- Work with monitoring and visualization tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Support configuration management and automation tools such as Salt and Ansible
- Document operational procedures, troubleshooting steps, system changes, and recurring issues
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, engineers, and mission users to resolve technical issues and maintain reliable platform operations
- Participate in incident response, problem diagnosis, root cause analysis, and corrective actions as required
- Support evening or mid-shift operational coverage in accordance with team requirements

Required Qualifications

- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- Seven (7) years of experience administering Red Hat/CentOS systems from the command line
- Seven (7) years of experience with Linux/Unix networking, including tools and technologies such as nmap, tcpdump, and firewalls
- Seven (7) years of experience with Red Hat/CentOS kickstart and system provisioning, including setup and configuration
- Two (2) or more years of experience with Red Hat DNS administration, including DNS, hosts files, and DHCP
- Strong experience troubleshooting operational issues in Linux environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
- DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification or higher, preferably Security+, obtained prior to start
- Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications:
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- CDP Administrator – Private Cloud Base
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

- Possession of both an applicable cloud certification and an 8570-compliant certification is required and will be verified during the interview or offer process

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
