Job Description

Works under guidance from HR leadership and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day P&C needs for AG Retail.  First point of contact to provide guidance and direction regarding basic to moderately complex employee questions.

As the first HR point of contact for employees, this role supports the HRBP to optimize people, processes and resources to attract, develop, engage and retain talent, and maximize productivity.  Provides basic guidance to employees and supervisors.  Partners with leaders and employees to create an inclusive culture where all team members are included and able to grow in their role.

With oversight from HR leadership, leads talent sourcing efforts through networking, hiring fairs, social and digital advertising to increase awareness and attract talent.

Identifies and executes opportunities for recruitment fairs to build community awareness and fill roles.

RESPONSIBILITIES

P&C Support under guidance from HR Leader.  May be independently located at a medium or low to medium volume /complexity store.  May lead the execution of low to medium complexity HR policies, programs, and initiatives with guidance from HR Leader.  May provide support to multiple stores.
Talent Acquisition

- Independently screens, interviews, hires and onboards talent for regular hourly and seasonal positions. Works in partnership with HR leadership for exempt roles.  
- Manages job postings at the direction of HR leadership across all advertising channels to attract strong talent for regular and seasonal positions in a timely manner while minimizing spend.  
- Evaluating advertising performance and providing proactive recommendations for optimizing advertising across channels (print, social, digital) for AG Retail locations.
- Support Global Onboarding team in conducting new hire orientation, including ensuring all legal and company required paperwork is completed accurately, thoroughly and within designated timeframes.  
- Employee Relations
- May provide intake/implementation of low complexity employee relations concerns with guidance from HR Leader.
- Provides administration support to HRBP for employee relations, including proper documentation.
- Post legal law posters upon receipt and ensure the most current is posted.
- Assist in the communication of new policy and procedures from American Girl and Mattel to store family.
- Talent & Org Development
- Assists HR Leader with the implementation of corporate programs such as Accelerating Performance, Career Action Planning, Org & Talent Planning, and Global Engagement Surveys/action plans.  Ensures AG meets the standards of compliance trainings.  
- Employee Engagement & Culture
- Assists HR leaders with implementation of events, roundtables and programs that further engagement and drive a positive, inclusive culture such as round tables, team meetings, recognition programs, volunteer events, etc.  
- HR Systems & Administration
- Responsible for data accuracy & system updates, including Workday data integrity, running reports and ensuring proper documentation, payment and maintenance of records in accordance with retention guidelines and company standards.

Qualifications

Education Requirements (Degree, Field of Study if applicable); Work Experience (years, experience)

- 3+ Years of HR or business-related leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Basic knowledge of State and Federal employment laws pertaining to hiring, employee relations, etc. 
- Experience to include sourcing/ recruitment, leading and/or training.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times regarding employee and company information.
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. 
- Experience leading several projects within tight timeframes.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, identify creative resource solutions and align individual and business expectations in a fast paced, dynamic environment. 
- Must have ability to build strong rapport and trust with individuals at all levels of the organization in order to support conflict resolution, elevate employee performance, and change management initiatives that are primarily led by HRBP.  
- Highly proficient in communicating in a calm, clear, empathetic, but direct manner. 
- Ability to take ambiguous and/or incomplete information/concepts/situations/dynamics and transform it into clear and easily understandable information.  Must be able to assess problems and identify appropriate solutions and/or know when to partner for support. 
- Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, sometimes high stress environment with a diversity of individuals including front-line staff, management, internal partners and candidates. 
- Experienced with Microsoft Suite and HR Systems.

The pay range for this position is hourly.
