Data Science Advisor - Hybrid

As a Data Science Advisor on the Enterprise Data Science team at Evernorth Health Services, you will build advanced analytics and AI solutions that address complex healthcare challenges. You will partner with clinical, operations, technology, and business leaders to create tools that improve the member experience, support better clinical outcomes, and advance business growth. Responsibilities

·    Lead the design, development, and implementation of predictive modeling, machine learning, generative AI, and other advanced analytics solutions aligned with user needs and business goals.

·    Build and improve supervised and unsupervised models using methods such as regression, decision trees, random forests, neural networks, clustering, segmentation, time-series analysis, topic modeling, sentiment analysis, and Bayesian analysis.

·    Develop scalable data pipelines and analytics workflows using large healthcare datasets and modern cloud-based tools.

·    Turn complex findings into clear insights, visual stories, and practical recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.

·    Partner with clinical, operations, technology, and business teams to move projects from early discovery through successful delivery.

·    Provide thought leadership on advanced analytics, emerging AI methods, and responsible approaches that improve solution quality and business value.

·    Work with curiosity, sound judgment, and a growth mindset in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards for accuracy and quality.

Required Qualifications

·    Relevant experience in data science, advanced analytics, predictive modeling, machine learning, or a related field.

·    Advanced programming skills in Python, R, SQL, SAS/SAS Enterprise Guide, or a similar analytics language.

·    Hands-on experience developing predictive models using methods such as regression, decision trees, support vector machines, random forests, or neural networks.

·    Experience with machine learning libraries or frameworks such as scikit-learn, MLlib, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.

·    Ability to explain complex findings clearly and influence decisions with technical and non-technical partners.

·    Strong collaboration, critical thinking, and consulting skills, with the ability to lead complex analytical work across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

·    Master's degree or PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, data science, econometrics, finance, engineering, operations research, bioinformatics, information systems, or another quantitative field.

·    Experience with AWS cloud services, Apache Spark, and large-scale data pipelines.

·    Knowledge of large language model technologies, including generative pretrained transformers, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and vector databases.

·    Experience with healthcare data, including claims and ICD-10, and knowledge of healthcare delivery processes.

·    Experience with Tableau or another data visualization platform.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 107,700 - 179,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
