We are seeking an Associate Principal - Engineering Geologist / Geotechnics to join our Brisbane-based Ground Engineering team. This is an opportunity for a highly capable engineering geologist or geotechnical professional to take a leading role in project delivery, client engagement, technical leadership and team capability development while working alongside some of Australia's most experienced ground engineering specialists. You will help create value for clients by drawing on EIC Activities' collective experience, technical capability and leading technologies.

What you will do

- Lead the delivery of complex engineering geology and geotechnical projects across major infrastructure, transport, resources and energy developments.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers and geologists, actively supporting succession planning, leadership development and the growth of technical capability across the team.
- Promote a culture of safety, sustainability, innovation, high performance and accountability, and demonstrate behaviours consistent with the CIMIC Group and EIC Activities Principles and Code of Business Conduct.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders, proactively shaping partnering, industry, market and business development opportunities across EIC Activities and the broader CIMIC Group.
- Contribute to major bids, tenders and proposals, applying sound business planning, commercial awareness and financial literacy to help secure profitable work and support portfolio objectives.
- Deliver practical, innovative and construction-focused ground engineering solutions through all phases of project delivery.
- Operate in accordance with applicable CIMIC Group and EIC Activities policies, delegations and accountability requirements, identifying and acting promptly on unacceptable business, project or delivery risks.

What you will bring

- Extensive experience in engineering geology and/or geotechnical engineering within consulting, contractor or infrastructure environments, including demonstrated experience at a senior technical or management level.
- Strong technical expertise in ground investigations, geotechnical analysis, engineering geology and construction-phase support.
- Experience contributing to major tenders and projects, with exposure to multidisciplinary engineering or construction delivery.
- Proven ability to manage projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across EIC Activities and CIMIC operating companies, and build trusted client relationships.
- Business planning and management capability, supported by sound commercial judgement and basic business financial literacy.
- A passion for mentoring, knowledge sharing and developing emerging professionals.
- A commitment to safety, technical excellence, integrity, accountability and delivering outstanding outcomes for clients.
- A relevant bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering geology, geology or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification in geotechnical engineering or geology is desirable.
