Grow a Cooler career with Chart Industries by supporting Shop Operations as a Machine Operator! Chart’s Machine Operator position plays a key role in the manufacturing process of Chart’s products. This position will be responsible for helping to produce high quality manufactured products used all over the world.
Chart Industries in Beasley, TX is looking for experienced fitters for our Header manufacturing line. This position requires the ability to work overtime and pass a 1G and/or a 2G Tig test on carbon steel 2” pipe. Chart’s welders play a key role in the manufacturing process of producing Air Cooled Heat Exchangers.
We currently have the following welding roles and shifts available:
Fitter
This role is responsible for performing fitting and tack welding plate or nozzles together to form a header box. This role may also be responsible for fitting and welding the root pass on end plates to header boxes.
Night Shift - Overtime available
What Will You Do?
- Fits, Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques
- Ability to lay-out, burn holes, fit and weld nozzles
- Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
- Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
- Performs a variety of tasks
- Promotes and supports safety and production
- Makes quality visual U.T. and x-ray welds
- Operate overhead cranes
- General housekeeping of work station
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work inside and outside. Regular exposure to welding debris, heat, cold, dark and bright environments.

Your Experience Should Be...
1-3 years related experience
Skills Required (i.e. certifications, licenses, registrations, etc.):
May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty
REQUIREMENTS - MUST BE ABLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
- Ability to operate overhead-crane
- Demonstrate a high-regard for safety by following all safety rules and procedures and leveraging Stop Work Authority when necessary
- Familiarity with welding machines and hand tools
- Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with quality an in an efficient manner
- Ability to work under general supervision
- Ability to work different shifts
- Ability to pass 1G and/or 2G Tig test on carbon steel 2” pipe preferred
- Ability and willingness to learn to operate basic cutting equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Possesses a positive attitude
