About the Role

Financial crime risks are constantly evolving, with criminals exploiting complex ownership structures, digital channels and emerging technologies whilst regulators raise expectations for how organisations identify, mitigate and report.

Our Financial Crime Risk Advisory team helps organisations meet these challenges through practical, risk-based advisory support, assessing exposure, enhancing risk frameworks and building sustainable programs across AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud / scams, and anti-bribery / anti-corruption. Our key service offerings, include:

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Managing Director, your responsibilities will include:

- Lead the end-to-end delivery of AML/CTF & Sanctions engagements across industry and consulting environments.
- Manage engagement mobilisation, delivery planning, project governance and multiple workstreams to ensure successful outcomes within scope, timeline and budget.
- Apply a strong understanding of the Australian AML/CTF regulatory framework and sanctions regulations.
- Deliver work across the end-to-end AML/CTF and sanctions lifecycle, including customer onboarding, KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD), transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting.
- Support regulatory response activities, controls testing, compliance reviews and remediation programs.
- Translate regulatory obligations, risk assessments and control gaps into practical, sustainable and operationally effective solutions.
- Coordinate project teams and stakeholders across compliance, operations, technology, legal and data functions to drive successful implementation outcomes.
- Supervise, mentor and develop junior team members while maintaining high delivery standards.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective stakeholder engagement, issue resolution and progress reporting.
- Provide subject matter expertise across AML/CTF, sanctions and broader financial crime risk management matters.

Experience & Qualifications:

- Demonstrate experience in Financial Crime, AML/CTF Compliance, Sanctions, Risk Management, Regulatory Consulting or a related field.
- Practical experience across the end-to-end AML/CTF & sanctions lifecycle, including customer onboarding, KYC, CDD, ECDD, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening and regulatory reporting.
- Experience conducting AML/CTF and sanctions risk assessments, compliance reviews, independent evaluations, remediation programs and control uplift initiatives.
- Strong understanding of financial crime risks, typologies and emerging trends, including money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions and fraud-related risks.
- Experience within banking, payments, gaming, casinos, clubs, digital assets, fintech or other regulated sectors.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and a self-starter, with experience of operating in fast paced and dynamic operational settings
- Excellent English language writing skills.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree or higher
- 3+ years’ experience in relevant fields
- Professional AML certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), International Compliance Association (ICA) qualifications, Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) or equivalent certifications are highly regarded.

Compensation

Minimum Pay: $100,000

Maximum Pay: $122,000
