Engineering Technician

Tesla is currently recruiting a motivated and accomplished Engineering Technician who will focus on multiple operations and duties during their shift while providing data to engineering staff. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate the necessary equipment and perform materials and mixing process and testing. This position is responsible for performing mixing process, raw material and powder testing, basic equipment troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, product packaging and loading/unloading finished goods and raw materials.

Shift Hours: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30pm

- Display a positive attitude and practice strong work ethics that reflect the mission, philosophy and goals of Tesla
- Manufacture batches in accordance with all safety, quality, and efficiency standards by following written SOP’s and verbal work instructions by engineering and leadership teams
- Perform mixing process written SOPs and support engineering staff perform experiments
- Perform raw materials/powder testing and provide data to engineering staff
- Operate equipment and instrumentation to monitor pressure, temperature, and other conditions
- Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
- Perform quality control testing as required on product
- Perform calibrations and preventative maintenance procedures on production process equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Support other projects as needed by management as business needs change

- Degree in engineering, technology or sciences. Skilled trades certificate and/or relevant military experience preferred, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with operating and calibrating meters/controls, level & pressure sensors, raw materials and powder testing
- Strong mechanical aptitude to conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on mixing and mixing process equipment
- Demonstrated experience following written/verbal standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Demonstrate basic math and computer skills
- Ability to wear PPE, which may include a half-mask or full-face respirator or PAPR (powered air-purifying respirator) that require fit testing and medical clearance, and coveralls as needed due to working with hazardous chemicals
- Willingness to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods
- Ability to access equipment in tight or elevated spaces with supervision
- Ability to lift and sort parts of up to 30 lbs. as needed

Expected Compensation $23.18 - $62.13/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
