Intern – Software Engineer Applications (Java Developer)

Join a collaborative engineering team developing software components for network management and automation solutions. This internship provides hands-on experience with software development, testing, database technologies, and AI-enabled engineering practices while contributing to customer-focused networking solutions. The role offers exposure to cross-functional teamwork, Agile development, and modern software engineering methodologies.

How you will make an impact:

• Develop and enhance software applications and microservices using Java and Python.

• Design, implement, and test features for Network Management Software (NMS) platforms.

• Develop data models, queries, and data-processing workflows using PostgreSQL.

• Build REST-based APIs and backend services that integrate with network devices, management systems, and cloud platforms.

• Collaborate with software, test, systems, and network engineering teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

• Create and execute unit, integration, and automated test cases and troubleshoot software defects.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, build automation, AI-enabled development practices, and technical documentation.

The must haves:

• Education: Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or related disciplines,

• Strong programming fundamentals and hands-on experience in Java.

• Good knowledge of Python programming and scripting.

• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design Patterns.

• Familiarity with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including SQL query development and database concepts.

• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), version control systems (Git), and Agile methodologies.

• Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, backend application development concepts, debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, verbal, written communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to haves:

• Basic understanding of Network Management Systems (NMS), telecommunications networks, or networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, SNMP, NETCONF/YANG, or routing concepts.

• Exposure to cloud technologies, containers, and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Spring Boot, Java Enterprise technologies, or Python frameworks.

• Familiarity with Linux environments and scripting.

• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.

• Understanding of AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, AI agents, or related tools and frameworks.

• Exposure to data analytics, automation, or network observability solutions.
