Senior Performance Test Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on Performance Test Engineer to own the performance engineering lifecycle for our applications — from workload modelling and script development through execution, analysis, and tuning recommendations. You will work closely with development, and report to QA Manager to ensure our systems are fast, scalable, and stable under real-world load.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather non-functional requirements and translate them into performance test strategies, workload models, and SLAs (response time, throughput, concurrency, error rate).
• Design, script, and execute load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability tests using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner.
• Perform API/web services performance testing (REST/SOAP) and database-level performance validation.
• Analyse test results to identify bottlenecks (application, database, network, or infrastructure) and work with engineering teams to resolve them.
• Prepare detailed performance test reports, dashboards, and executive summaries with clear recommendations.
• Contribute to capacity planning and pre-production performance sign-off for major releases.

Must-Have Skills

• 7 years of overall QA/testing experience, with 3+ years focused specifically on performance testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with JMeter and/or LoadRunner working on Enterprise Applications.
• Solid understanding of performance testing concepts: load, stress, soak/endurance, spike, and scalability testing.
• Experience with performance scripting for HTTP/HTML, REST/SOAP web services, and correlation/parameterization techniques.
• Working knowledge of SQL for backend validation and query performance analysis.
• Basic scripting ability (Java, Python, or Shell) for test data setup and automation of test workflows.
• Good understanding of the full performance test lifecycle — requirement gathering, planning, scripting, execution, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong at Debugging/Troubleshooting/Log Analysis.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and containerized applications (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed system performance considerations.
• Performance testing certifications (e.g., LoadRunner/JMeter certification, Certified Performance Tester).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under release timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings to technical and business stakeholders.
