Job Description
Director- Secure Government (Home Office & Ministry of Justice)
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Director to lead and grow Turner & Townsend's advisory business across two of our most strategically important central government clients: the Home Office and Ministry of Justice.
The successful candidate will be a recognised leader within the public sector consulting market, bringing a strong track record of developing trusted executive-level relationships, securing and delivering complex advisory commissions, and leading high-performing teams through significant periods of growth. They will possess a deep understanding of the policy, operational and transformation challenges facing major government departments and agencies, particularly those operating across justice, security, policing, immigration, borders and wider public services.
This individual will be responsible for shaping and executing client growth strategies, identifying emerging opportunities, and positioning Turner & Townsend as a trusted delivery partner across strategic transformation, programme delivery, portfolio management, operating model design and organisational change. They will work collaboratively across our advisory, programme management, commercial, digital and infrastructure businesses to bring the full breadth of our capability to clients.
Qualifications
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A proven track record of winning and growing significant consulting and advisory revenues within the Home Office, Ministry of Justice, or closely aligned government departments and agencies.
- Established relationships with senior civil servants, programme leaders and commercial stakeholders across the UK Government sector.
- Deep understanding of government priorities, governance, funding models and procurement frameworks.
- Experience leading large-scale business transformation, organisational change, programme mobilisation or complex portfolio delivery engagements (Desirable)
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities, shape propositions, build winning teams and secure new work.
- Credibility operating at Director General, Chief Executive, SRO and Board level.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary consulting teams and developing high-performing talent.
- A collaborative leadership style, capable of operating effectively across multiple business units and service lines.
- Strong personal network and market profile within central government and the wider public sector consulting landscape.
- The ability to influence, challenge and advise senior client stakeholders on strategic issues while maintaining trusted adviser status.

- Establish Turner & Townsend as a go-to advisory partner across the Home Office and Ministry of Justice.
- Develop and maintain executive-level client relationships that translate into sustainable business growth.
- Increase the scale and strategic relevance of our advisory portfolio across both departments.
- Lead the pursuit and delivery of major transformation and programme commissions.
- Build and develop a high-performing team capable of supporting continued growth across government.
- Strengthen collaboration across our broader business, bringing integrated solutions to some of the UK's most complex public sector challenges.
The successful candidate will combine the gravitas of a senior government adviser with the commercial drive of a business leader, bringing the vision, relationships and leadership required to accelerate Turner & Townsend's growth across two of our most important clients.
