HR Data Project - Product Owner / Business analyst

Mission - This is a four-month temporary assignment (till January 2027), with potential opportunities to contribute to other data initiatives in 2027.
Coordinate the functional delivery of the Databricks data product supporting the Automated Presence Insights for Managers project. The solution combines Mirakl WiFi, Zoom room booking, and Workday data to provide agreed and appropriately governed insights for managers.
The role will connect business stakeholders, HR and data owners, privacy stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to ensure that the delivered data product is well-defined, appropriately scoped, reliable, documented, and compliant with applicable data protection requirements.

The role will:
Own the end-to-end delivery of data platform initiatives, from initial discovery and scope definition through requirements, development coordination, validation, stakeholder sign-off, and transition to the relevant operational team. 
Gather and document business and data requirements.
Translate requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira.
Understand, analyze, and validate the data structure, data sources, transformations, and business rules.
Validate data quality and the consistency of the resulting output.
Maintain project and data documentation in Confluence.
Collaborate with reporting and analytics teams by providing clear definitions, data context, and requirements for downstream reporting. The role does not own report development, deployment, or adoption
Key skills:
Experience as a Tech Product Owner/Business Analyst/System Analyst or similar role
Practical understanding of data privacy and responsible data use, particularly when working with employee or workplace data.
Ability to identify privacy risks, ask the right questions, and involve Privacy, Legal, Security, HR, or Data Protection stakeholders
when appropriate.
Strong understanding of data, data structures, data models, sources, pipelines, transformations, and data quality.
Ability to explain data clearly and validate its meaning and usage with data owners.
Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements for data and engineering teams.
Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira.
Familiarity with Databricks, Azure data services, Workday (HR data) is a big plus, and Power BI.
Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Proactive and curious mindset, with the ability to ask the right questions and investigate data issues independently.
Experience with Agile ways of working, Jira, and Confluence.
