We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of   Assistant Director, Portfolio Analytics and Insights

In this role, you will:

- Support the Senior Manager, Risk Appetite, Strategy and Governance in maintaining a robust retail credit risk management framework across Singapore International Wealth and Premier Banking lending portfolios. Help the business grow sustainably and profitably by ensuring that risk appetite, monitoring, governance and controls remain effective, forward-looking and aligned with internal standards and regulatory expectations.
- Refresh and manage core risk governance artefacts, including retail credit risk maps, business activity monitoring, warning and tolerance thresholds, and the external environment monitoring framework. Prepare and coordinate accurate, timely materials for the HSBC Bank Singapore Board, Risk Management Meetings, the International Wealth and Premier Banking Risk Forum and regular credit risk forums.
- Manage Singapore International Wealth and Premier Banking expected credit loss provisioning in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standard 9 requirements. Provide analytical support, challenge and well-structured materials for the Country Impairment Committee, while managing end-to-end credit risk stress-testing deliverables across market, regional and Group requirements.
- Work closely with the International Wealth and Premier Banking Risk and Control team to oversee retail credit process risk controls and operational control effectiveness. Support root-cause assessments for model risk as the local user of credit risk models, maintain appropriate evidence and ensure that identified weaknesses are addressed promptly.
- Manage relationships with regulators, internal audit, external audit, regional stakeholders, Portfolio Risk, Finance and Retail Products teams. Coordinate financial resource planning and latest estimate processes, provide effective review and challenge, and ensure that all activities comply with applicable policies, procedures, data requirements, regulatory guidelines, audit recommendations and internal control standards.
- Build trusted relationships across all levels of management through integrity, ethical behaviour and clear communication. Promote an open, inclusive and customer-focused team culture by sharing knowledge, influencing and negotiating constructively, collaborating across functions, and providing relevant training, mentoring and support to colleagues.

To be successful you will:

- Hold a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics or an equivalent quantitative discipline, supported by at least 6 years of relevant experience in retail credit risk management. Apply practical expertise across credit risk modelling, risk monitoring, loss forecasting, risk strategy and key credit risk governance activities.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of retail lending portfolios, including portfolio performance, risk appetite, monitoring, governance and control requirements. Knowledge of retail lending portfolio stress testing and International Financial Reporting Standard 9 concepts or methodologies would be advantageous.
- Apply strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills to assess complex credit risk issues and develop practical, evidence-based recommendations. Understand business objectives and technical requirements, identify relationships between analytical initiatives and business performance, and maintain focus on sustainable outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with technical teams and senior management, translating complex credit risk concepts, analytical findings and recommendations into clear and accessible information. Build constructive relationships with stakeholders and tailor communication appropriately to support understanding, challenge and timely decision-making.
- Manage multiple activities independently under tight deadlines, maintaining accuracy, quality and appropriate documentation throughout delivery. Prioritise effectively, respond positively to changing requirements and complete agreed work while operating within relevant governance, risk, compliance and internal control standards.
- Make balanced and timely decisions when information is ambiguous or incomplete, recognising when additional analysis is necessary and when business pressures require action. Demonstrate sound judgement, quickly understand new concepts and assess the wider implications of proposed analytical solutions for customers, the business and overall credit risk performance.
