Styling Assistant

As a Styling Assistant at River Island, you will play an important role in supporting the Styling team across e-commerce and editorial shoots. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for fashion who is keen to develop their styling experience within a fast-paced studio environment.

Working primarily within the E-commerce Studio, with opportunities to support Editorial, you will assist the Stylists and the Senior Stylists with the preparation, coordination and organisation of product throughout the shoot process.

Please note: This role requires you to work in the office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Support the Stylists and Senior Stylist across e-commerce and editorial shoot days.
- Assist with the preparation, organisation and smooth running of shoot days- with steaming, prepping and organising product and shoot rails daily
- Assist Stylists with dressing and accessorising models
- Sort, distribute and track samples, ensuring product is allocated to the correct Stylist and returned after use.
- Maintain an organised styling wardrobe and studio styling areas
- Coordinate the return of samples following shoots, ensuring product is accounted for and returned to the appropriate teams.
- Develop an understanding of fit, proportion, presentation and the importance of detail on set.
- Build positive working relationships with Buying and Studio teams to support the smooth movement of samples.
- Follow styling direction and respond positively to feedback from Stylists and the wider creative team.
- Show enthusiasm for fashion, a willingness to learn and a proactive, collaborative approach to studio life.
- Support the team with research, imagery and inspiration for styling projects and seasonal direction.
- Take ownership of day-to-day studio styling administration, ensuring essential supplies and styling kit are always well stocked. This includes monitoring stock levels and ordering items when needed

- Be a reliable and supportive member of the Styling team, contributing to a positive and collaborative studio environment.
- Take direction from Stylists and the Senior Stylists developing confidence and knowledge in the role.
- Show initiative in identifying ways to improve organisation, sample handling and the overall efficiency of the styling process.
- Be open to learning new skills, taking feedback and developing an understanding of the wider e-commerce and editorial workflow.
