Landowner Engagement Officer

Join our dedicated group supporting the delivery of electricity infrastructure projects across underground cables and overhead lines (OHL). The Landowner Engagement Specialist will work with project teams, landowners and external advisers to secure land access for surveys, investigations, enabling works, construction and maintenance, while also supporting planning and stakeholder activities throughout project development and delivery.

The role provides a key interface between landowners and project teams, helping to maintain clear communication, accurate records and timely access arrangements. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal specialists, valuers, agents and solicitors, escalating complex compensation, legal or stakeholder matters as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as primary point of contact for landowners on assigned underground cable / OHL projects.

- Arrange and conduct landowner meetings, site visits and routine negotiations in support of projects

- Secure / manage access for surveys, site investigations, enabling works, construction activities.

- Support site acquisition, easement, wayleave and other property-related activities.

- Coordinate inputs from valuers, land agents, solicitors and other advisers, ensuring actions are progressed and recorded.

- Maintain accurate engagement logs, correspondence, commitments and access records.

- Support planning, environmental and consenting processes by coordinating access and landowner information.

- Provide clear project reporting, risk updates and forward look-aheads for land access activities, while promoting respectful landowner engagement, safety, compliance and professional conduct.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

The successful candidate will ideally have several of the qualities listed below:

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in land acquisition, property, utilities, infrastructure, planning, agriculture, engineering, or stakeholder engagement.

- Experience dealing directly with landowners and external stakeholders.

- Practical understanding of wayleaves, easements, site acquisition or property transactions.

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

- Ability to organise competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and meet project deadlines.

- Good report-writing skills and confidence providing clear project and risk updates.

- Either a relevant third-level qualification or equivalent relevant work experience.

- A valid driver's licence for ROI, access to a car, and flexibility to travel nationwide

- Excellent communication skills.

Desirable

It is desirable that the candidate has achieved the following:

- Experience supporting electricity, utilities or other linear infrastructure projects.

- Knowledge of underground cable or overhead line project development and construction.

- Experience coordinating valuers, agents, solicitors, planners or environmental specialists. Familiarity with compensation claims, access agreements, settlement processes and planning, environmental, data protection or FOI requirements relevant to landowner engagement.

- Knowledge of agricultural practices and an understanding of the issues affecting rural landowners and farming businesses.

Location

The succesful candidate will be based in either The Sidings, Dublin 2, or East Gate Cork but travel to and working at various project locations as required, is a key requirement of this role

Salary

€59,000 to €70,000 per annum
