Sustainability Assurance Senior Consultant - ESG

Job Description & Summary
As a Senior Associate in ESG Assurance, you will support and lead assurance procedures over sustainability information and disclosures. You will apply an auditor mindset, professional scepticism and a risk-based approach to assess whether reported ESG information is supported by appropriate evidence and prepared in accordance with the applicable reporting criteria. You will work as part of multidisciplinary engagement teams and contribute to high-quality delivery, coaching and practice development.

Your responsibilities:

· Plan and perform assurance procedures over sustainability reports, ESG disclosures, greenhouse gas emissions, ESG key performance indicators and other non-financial information.

· Understand the client's business, sustainability reporting processes, systems, data flows, governance and internal controls relevant to the assured information.

· Evaluate the suitability of reporting criteria and assess disclosures against applicable frameworks and requirements, including CSRD, ESRS, GRI and the EU Taxonomy, as relevant to the engagement.

· Perform walkthroughs, inspect supporting documentation, test samples, recalculate reported information, assess estimates and methodologies, and evaluate the completeness and accuracy of evidence.

· Document procedures, evidence obtained, findings and conclusions in accordance with PwC methodology and applicable assurance standards, including ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3410, where relevant.

· Apply professional scepticism and exercise sound judgement when assessing the quality, reliability, consistency and traceability of sustainability information.

· Communicate audit requests, findings and open matters clearly to client stakeholders and follow issues through to resolution.

· Coordinate day-to-day workstreams, monitor progress against the engagement plan, review junior team members' work and escalate significant matters promptly.

Skills And Qualification:

· University degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, environmental science, engineering or another relevant field.

· At least 2 years of audit or assurance experience. Experience in financial audit, sustainability assurance or other non-financial assurance is preferred.

· Understanding of audit and assurance concepts, including risk assessment, materiality, evidence, sampling, internal controls and professional scepticism.

· Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and requirements, such as CSRD, ESRS, GRI, the GHG Protocol and the EU Taxonomy, is an advantage.

· Experience with ISAE 3000, ISAE 3410 or equivalent assurance standards is an advantage.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills, with close attention to detail and documentation quality.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively within engagement teams and communicate confidently with colleagues and client stakeholders.

· Advanced English and strong digital skills, including Microsoft Excel and the responsible use of AI-enabled tools, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, to support data analysis, documentation and efficient assurance delivery.

· Experience with data analytics or reporting tools is an advantage.

· Professional accounting, audit or sustainability-related qualifications, or progress toward such qualifications, are an advantage.
