Job Designation: Electrician – Night Shift

Job Summary:

Responsible for monitoring, operation, preventive maintenance, inspection, and timely resolution of electrical systems and related facility equipment during the night shift. The role will ensure the safe, reliable, and uninterrupted functioning of electrical installations and provide immediate support during electrical breakdowns, emergencies, and night-time campus activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor DG and UPS systems and provide emergency backup support for critical facilities, including the Data Centre.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspection of electrical DBs, panels, cables, terminations, connections, and related electrical installations.
- Identify electrical abnormalities such as overheating, abnormal noise, burning smell, loose connections, sparks, and other potential hazards.
- Attend to and rectify electrical breakdowns and emergencies during the night shift.
- Conduct regular inspection of classrooms, VIP cabins, conference rooms, washrooms, and other critical areas.
- Monitor and close pending electrical complaints received from classrooms, departments, and other campus areas.
- Operate and monitor STP pumps and report any abnormalities during night hours.
- Provide electrical support for night-time events and activities, including library sessions, placement activities, conferences, and other scheduled events.
- Conduct regular night rounds to identify and address potential electrical issues before they develop into major breakdowns.
- Maintain records of inspections, breakdowns, complaints, preventive maintenance, and other electrical activities carried out during the shift.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures and prescribed operational guidelines.
- Coordinate with the Facilities/Administration team for issues requiring further technical intervention or external support.

Educational Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma in Electrical from a Government-recognized institute.
- Valid Wireman / Electrical Supervisor License issued by the PWD, Government of the respective State – Mandatory.

Professional Experience

- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of LT systems in commercial or institutional buildings.
