Fabric Technician

What This Job Involves

The Fabric Technician provides general maintenance, minor repairs, and facilities support services across the site. Working as part of the JLL Facilities team, the Fabric Technician ensures the physical environment is safe, functional, and well-maintained, responding to day-to-day reactive and planned maintenance tasks.

What You'll Do

- Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general fabric works to maintain building standards
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests logged through the helpdesk system, ensuring timely resolution
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspections and checks, identifying and reporting any defects or safety hazards
- Support office reconfiguration projects by assisting with furniture moves and meeting space set-ups
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations, JLL standards, and permit-to-work procedures
- Coordinate with and escort specialist contractors during planned maintenance visits, ensuring site access protocols are followed
- Maintain plant rooms, maintenance stores, and back-of-house areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation
- Manage materials inventory, keep accurate maintenance records, and report stock requirements to support operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

- Proven track record in a general maintenance or handyman role, ideally within commercial or corporate environments
- Solid understanding of building fabric, mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, and health and safety best practices
- Practical, hands-on problem solver who can work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality workmanship
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset that puts stakeholder satisfaction first
- Flexible team player with a proactive approach to supporting wider operational needs
- Reliable, punctual professional who takes ownership of responsibilities
- Trade qualification, vocational training, First Aid certification, or valid driving licence are advantageous
