Warehouse Operative/Truck Loading & Material Handling

The Transportation Warehouse Operative is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, control, preparation, and loading of goods onto outbound vehicles. This role ensures that all shipments are processed accurately, loaded according to transport requirements, and dispatched on time while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Receive, inspect, and handle incoming and outgoing goods.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Verify products, quantities, labels, and shipping documentation.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Ensure cargo is correctly secured and distributed within vehicles.
- Operate warehouse equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
- Complete and validate transport documents, including delivery notes and CMRs.
- Coordinate with drivers and transport teams to meet loading schedules.
- Identify and escalate operational issues or shipment discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Comply with company procedures, quality standards, and health & safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant logistics or warehouse training is an advantage.

Experience

- Minimum 1 year of experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations.
- Previous experience loading and unloading trucks.
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment.

Skills & Knowledge

- Understanding of warehouse processes and inventory management.
- Ability to read and verify shipping documentation.
- Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.

Preferred

- Valid forklift license/certification.
- Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, or electric pallet trucks.
- Knowledge of SAP, WMS, or similar logistics systems.
