# Job Description Summary
The Senior Application Engineer will be the primary technical interface with new nuclear power plant customers in Poland and other European countries prior to the contract for site specific design. Responsibilities include determining which potential sites are best suited to host BWRX-300s and determining what work is necessary to adopt the standard BWRX-300 to a specific project. Further, the Senior Application Engineering will interface as required at varying levels within the organization to assure the GEH BWRX-300 product offering remains aligned to customer expectations.

As a Senior Application Engineer at GE Vernova, you will be the bridge between our cutting-edge BWRX-300 nuclear technology and the communities ready to embrace it. In this pivotal role, you will be our technical face for new nuclear power plant projects in Poland and across Europe, guiding customers through the critical pre-contract phase. You will not just be designing solutions; you will be laying the groundwork for a sustainable energy legacy.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Leadership:  Lead the evaluation of customer, country, and site-specific requirements for potential projects, ensuring our BWRX-300 standard design is effectively adapted to meet unique project needs.
- Strategic Collaboration:  Coordinate site layouts, external hazard screenings, and preliminary heat balances by bridging efforts between GE Vernova engineering teams, external partners, and our customers.
- Project Delivery Planning:  Own the development of delivery schedules, cost estimates, and project responsibility frameworks, ensuring technical alignment from design through commercial operation.
- Customer Advocacy:  Represent our engineering, fuel, and services expertise in high-level customer meetings, using your commercial acumen to translate complex technical requirements into compelling value propositions.
- Market Intelligence:  Synthesize customer development strategies and competitive data to inform our product offerings, working closely with Sales and Product Line Management to maximize our competitiveness.
- Technical Education:  Act as a subject matter expert, presenting our technology and solutions to customers to build trust and understanding of our capabilities.

Qualifications

Required

- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) major.
- Significant experience in Application or Sales Engineering, Construction Project Management, or similar large-scale project management with a strong customer-facing focus.
- Excellent proficiency in English and Polish (both written and spoken, including technical terminology).
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, primarily within Poland.

Preferred

- Field experience working on new nuclear power plant projects.
- Knowledge of nuclear power systems, controls, equipment, and international nuclear regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build effective networks to drive project efficiency.

A formal education and subsequent Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

Essential Eligibility

- You are a resident of Poland with unrestricted legal authorization to work in the country.
- This position requires access to information subject to U.S. Export Control Laws. As such, all applicants must be citizens of a country on the U.S. Department of Energy’s List of Generally Authorized Countries (10 CFR Part 810 Appendix A), unless a specific authorization is obtained.
